Malaysia’s first green scientific calculator, which was launched in early September, is made of 100 per cent recycled copier material, according to digital imaging solutions firm Canon Marketing (Malaysia).

“The Canon F502G scientific calculator is made using 100 per cent recycled Canon copier material down to its packaging,” said Canon Marketing Malaysia senior marketing manager, Calculator Department, Edmond Liew.

“Canon F502G is a 10+2 digit scientific calculator, which is ideal for young minds using one for the first time as it teaches them to have a green thumb,” said Liew. “The calculator contains all essential functions required for lower secondary school students. It features a convenient independent memory.”

“Our calculator range always aims to make lives easier with advanced features,” he added. “As an addition, our new range will all be sensitive towards the environment and carry a green message with it. This can be seen from the launch of our Environmental Series last year.”

“Truly global companies must foster good relations, not only with their customers and the communities in which they operate but also with their nations and environment,” said Liew. “Hence, Canon has strived to enforce its green procurement policy for its global operations and created the range of environmental calculators.”
