The personal computer division of Japanese
electronics giant Fujitsu will be opening a new 1,400 sq ft (130 sq m) repair centre in Singapore’s Funan DigitaLife Mall this Thursday. The facility will be almost 70 per cent larger than Fujitsu’s former repair centre, which was also located in the same mall.
The new centre, which will be staffed by six customer service officers and 10 engineers, will allow customers to witness their notebook products being repaired through a glass window.
According to Fujitsu, Singapore will be the second country to house such an open concept service centre, with the first being in Thailand.
Comfortable wait
Customers at the centre can expect plush sofas, soft background music, complimentary drinks and the availability of newspapers and magazines, to make for a more enjoyable waiting experience.
Fujitsu has also set up a priority queue for its student customers from 10 am to 12 pm on weekdays, a move catered to what the company views as a ‘growing segment of student users of Fujitsu products’.
Operating hours at the new centre will also be slightly extended to 8pm on Wednesdays, to cater to customers in the working crowd. The centre’s normal opening hours are from 10am to 7pm.
Green disposal
The facility also offers customers the option of disposing of their old Fujitsu units in an environmentally-friendly fashion. Old Fujitsu notebooks dropped off at the centre will be sent for recycling at a specialised processing facility. Customers who choose to follow this procedure will be given a S$25 (US$16.30) accessories voucher for use at the centre.
Fujitsu declined to reveal how much the new facility cost.
