SINGAPORE, 8 APRIL 2009 – IT solutions and services provider Datacraft has won a US$1.7 million contract to scale up the multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) points of presence (PoPs) for a leading Indian service provider.

According to Datacraft, the Indian service provider will be augmenting 17 PoPs across major cities in India as part of their capacity and service enhancement strategy.

“By the end of this three-phase project, the service provider will benefit from improved productivity and the ability to provide cost-effective services that cater to the ever-changing demands of its subscribers,” said the IT services company.

“The project requires Datacraft to provide a highly scalable high-end Cisco networking infrastructure solution, connected via multiple 155Mbps SDH/STM-1 optical links to ensure fault tolerance while eliminating redundancy across the network,” said Datacraft.

Datacraft will also be providing a three-year Uptime maintenance and support service. Uptime is a continuous 24 x 7 x 365 managed service for troubleshooting and resolution of issues facing mission-critical IT systems.
