Nine Singapore companies were presented the APICTA Awards in Jakarta By Zafar Anjum

SINGAPORE, 20 NOVEMBER 2008 – Team Singapore sparkled with 3 Winner and 6 Merit Awards at this year’s Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

APICTA is a prominent Asia Pacific Information and Communications Technology (ICT) event held annually since 2001. It provides a platform for innovators and entrepreneurs in the ICT sectors to benchmark their products against each other.

According to APICTA, Singapore infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF) submitted 20 nominations from 16 companies to compete at the awards. They won a total of 9 awards out of the 126 nominations received for the 16 categories from 11 member-economies.

The Singapore infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF) is Singapore’s premier infocomm industry association.

Accolades for infocomm innovation in Asia Pacific

According to APICTA, Team Singapore winners included Central Provident Fund Board, Personal e-Motion Pte Ltd, PCK Media Pte Ltd, and the merit recipients were ST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems) Pte Ltd, inQflow Technologies Holdings Pte Ltd, Planvisage Pte Ltd, BoxSentry Pte Ltd, and Raffles Institution (2 Merit Awards).   

The nine Singapore companies were presented the APICTA Awards, the highest accolade for infocomm innovation in Asia Pacific for its recognition in innovative research & development, e-Learning, e-Inclusion & e-Community, security applications, e-Logistic & supply chain management, communications applications, and secondary student project, said APICTA.

The companies received the awards from H.E. Jusuf Kalla, vice president of Indonesia, at the gala dinner and award ceremony held at the Bapindo Plaza on 15 November 2008.
