SINGAPORE, 1 SEPTEMBER 2008 – As telecoms sector competition intensifies in the Asia - Pacific, customer experience is taking centre stage, with providers leveraging on new-age tools such as social networking sites and mobile internet.
This was the view held forth by the telecom industry leaders at the Frost & Sullivan Next Generation Telecom Summit 2008, which was held in Singapore on August 28-29. About 300 delegates from Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia and the Philippines attended the summit.
“Convergence is placing increasing stress on operators to enrich customer experience and incorporate a wide diversity of services to attract new consumers while retaining existing customers,” said Jayesh Easwaramony, director, ICT Consulting, Frost & Sullivan. “Complex services like network connectivity with other content-based components are now a norm rather than an exception.”
