HONG KONG, 26 MARCH 2009 – Korean asset management company Mirae Asset Global Investments has completed installation of telepresence systems at its offices in South Korea and Hong Kong.

The telepresence solution offers high-definition video conferencing to provide ‘face-to-face’ meetings without the expense and fatigue of long-haul business travel.

Provided by Singapore-based Datacraft Asia, an information technology solutions and services provider, the telepresence solution will be rolled out in four other countries—the US, the UK, Brazil and India, in phase two of the project.

“To stay ahead of the game, we are continuously evaluating how we can improve our communications systems so that we can enhance our employee productivity and collaboration,” a spokesperson for Mirae Asset Korea said.

“This is why we deployed Cisco telepresence systems for our key operational locations. The telepresence solution has enabled us to reduce our travelling expenses, saving us significant time and cost.”

Datacraft designed a tailor-made solution for Mirae Asset which included the installation of two CTS 3,000 systems in South Korea and Hong Kong and four CTS 1,000 systems in India, Brazil, the US and the UK. The network hub in Seoul, South Korea, also comprises a telepresence manager, call manager, multi-point switch and lightweight directory access protocol facility.
