KUALA LUMPUR, 1 OCTOBER 2009 -- According to PC manufacturer Lenovo Malaysia, users can expect a richer experience of Microsoft’s new Windows 7 operating system on certified Lenovo machines.

Lenovo Malaysia country manager, commercial business, Khoo Hung Chuan, said the ‘Windows 7 Lenovo Enhanced Experience’, which is a certification only available on Lenovo products, would enhance the computing experience for both consumers and small business customers running Windows 7 on Lenovo PCs.

Khoo said: “Lenovo Enhanced Experience is the result of joint engineering between Lenovo and Microsoft designed to provide PCs that will not only run Windows 7, but will also help consumers and small business customers enrich their experience with the new Windows 7 operating system when it becomes available.”

“Among the key benefits of the Lenovo Enhanced Experience certification is advanced performance tuning, which enables both Think and Idea PCs to start up significantly faster than identical configuration, non-optimised PCs,” he said.  “For example, on select Think PCs, Windows 7 starts up to 56 per cent faster compared to running Windows XP or Vista, and shuts down in as little as five seconds.”

Joint technical effort with Microsoft

“To achieve Windows 7 Lenovo Enhanced Experience certification, Lenovo’s technical team and developers have worked with Microsoft during the making of Windows 7 to create an exceptionally-engineered hardware and software experience,” said Khoo.  “Advances in PC technology are giving users even better tools to increase their personal productivity at work, and this Enhanced Experience certification lets customers know that our Think PCs are optimised for business.”

“Lenovo Enhanced Experience certification means customers can be confident that our systems not only meet the specification to run Windows 7, but are optimised to enhance it,” said Lenovo Malaysia country manager, consumer business, Eric Zhao “The Enhanced Experience Idea product portfolio encompasses products that uniquely integrate standard industry features with Lenovo’s own value-add technologies and advanced performance tuning to deliver a faster, richer and easier way for consumers to use their PCs.”
