KUALA LUMPUR, 14 NOVEMBER 2008 - Malaysian provider of serviced offices The Nomad Offices has selected network solutions firm Cisco’s Unified Communication (UC) solution for four of its locations across the country.
According to The Nomad Group chief executive officer, Hew Thin Chay, Cisco’s technology solution allowed The Nomad Offices to extend a seamless collaborative experience, over a secured and robust Internet Protocol (IP) network, to customers and staff.
Said Hew, “We selected Cisco based on its global network leadership, its highly scalable, reliable and secured IP infrastructure and the promise of a lower total cost of ownership.”
He said The Nomad Offices’s Cisco’s UC infrastructure—installed by technology firm Datacraft Advanced Network Services—comprised switching, routing, and wireless connectivity in its Services Offices in Pavillion KL, The Gardens, Hap Seng and Etiqa.
The Nomad Offices is the largest serviced office provider in Malaysia with offices in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jakarta, Ho Chih Minh, Bangkok and Manila. The Group is also the owner-manager of The Nomad Sucasa, an all-suite-hotel and The Nomad Residences Bangsar.
UC results in effectiveness and cost savings
“Connectivity plays a pivotal role in enhancing the way people live, work, play and learn,” said Cisco Malaysia managing director Anne Abraham. “By using the network as a platform, companies can transform their businesses to be more productive and effective. Nomad’s customers can now connect and collaborate to enjoy a modern lifestyle with a broad array of online services.”
Abraham said the Cisco Unified Communications system, which is an integrated suite of voice, data and video products and applications, allowed organisations of all sizes to communicate more effectively. “It allows customers to integrate their communications system with their information technology (IT) infrastructure, streamlining business processes for the effective work environment today.”
“The Nomad’s continuous growth demands for a robust strategy in managing cost and complexity of the business and its operations,” said Hew. “We intend to take the collaboration with Cisco to the next level, by incorporating Cisco TelePresence, unified mobility and physical security product portfolio. We may also employ Cisco technology in some of our hotels in the region.”
