KUALA LUMPUR, 25 JUNE 2009—More than three quarters of Malaysian organisations have gained significant business benefits by implementing an information technology management framework, according to a survey by the Malaysia Chapter of the Information Technology Services Management Forum (itSMF) in 2008.
Enterprise business solutions firm Epicor Software Corporation vice president of product marketing, James Norwood, said that the release of the newest version of its IT Service Management solution—Epicor ITSM 2009—will bring further gains.
“Epicor ITSM 2009 is a benchmark of Epicor’s continued success in supporting the needs for today’s enterprises by providing tools and leveraging the latest technologies to enable optimal performance, greater flexibility and extended global support of IT service operations,” said Norwood. “The itSMF study also showed that 29 percent acknowledged a high level of improvement in meeting their business requirements and customers’ satisfaction through ITSM.”
For the shrinking world
“Geographic borders continue to shrink in an increasingly connected world economy,” said Norwood. “In order to support geographically distributed IT personnel and their customers, Epicor ITSM includes an enhanced self-service and field service portal available in numerous languages to put self-service in the hands of employees in the field and around the globe.”
He added: “Epicor ITSM including ITSM portal provides for the following language packs: Chinese—both Simplified and Traditional—Dutch, English US, English UK, Estonian, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Russian, and Spanish. Epicor ITSM 2009 is also expected to support Arabic, Polish, Portuguese, and Swedish later this year.”
“The 2009 release also includes an advanced software development kit (SDK), providing the tools to deploy and extend comprehensive portal capabilities as well as the necessary documentation and examples to adjust existing functionality and create new functionality,” he said.
