SINGAPORE, 30 APRIL 2009 – A new line of Smart handhelds were launched in Singapore by the Smart Handheld Business Group of Acer, the third largest vendor in the global PC market.
The devices will be distributed in Singapore through an agreement between the Acer Smart Handheld Business Group and C2O Corporation, said the technology company.
“The new Smart handheld devices represent a strategic move for Acer towards becoming a leader in the ‘mobility market‘, having provided Mobile Internet solutions to 20 million consumers in more than 100 countries across the globe,” said Acer.
“This official launch in Singapore marks the first step our Smart Handheld Business Group has taken in Southeast Asia, and marks our company’s ambitions to become one of the top companies in the fast-moving mobility market,” said Roger Yuen, vice president, Smart Handheld Business Group, Asia Pacific, Acer.
Targeted at business oriented and technology savvy Singaporeans, Acer’s Smart Handhelds are designed to deliver a seamless convergence of functionalities for both personal and professional use, said the company.
The models unveiled include ACER DX900 model (S$799 or US$539), ACER DX650 (S$599 or US$404), ACER X960 (S$699 or US$471), with two additional models, the ACER F900 and ACER M900, which will be on the market from May.
