SINGAPORE, 29 AUGUST 2009—V. Mathivanan has been appointed president of APAC (Asia Pacific) for global IT and business process outsourcing (BPO) services provider, Patni Computer Systems. Mathivanan's appointment, according to Patni in a press release issued last week, is accompanied by that of Naresh K. Lakhanpal as the president of Patni Americas, and Deepak Khosla as the new head of Patni in SAARC (the South Asia Association for Regional Cooperation). Brian Stones heads Patni's business in EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa). Together they are part of the company's broader strategy to accelerate the growth of its business, particularly in the following geographies: the US, EMEA, APAC, and member countries of SAARC—Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka.
"Our overriding focus has been to identify growth areas and then ensure that these are followed through with the right management support," said Patni's CEO Jeya Kumar. "These appointments are part of that promise and a reinforced regional structure will see this vision through to fruition."
Mathivanan leads Patni's APAC business from the company's regional headquarters in Singapore. Mathivanan brings to Patni more than three decades of knowledge, and leadership experience and savvy from the helm of global leaders, such as IT solutions and services provider Singapore Network Services (which later was renamed CrimsonLogic) where he was the managing director, and the award-winning IT division of the Port of Singapore Authority (later corporatised and named PSA Corporation) where he was vice president of IT.
