KUALA LUMPUR, 24 MARCH 2009 -- Business analytics firm SAP Malaysia has appointed a new managing director.

V R Srivatsan, former vice president for South Asia at Business Objects, took over the Malaysia role from Krish Datta, who has been promoted to SAP South East Asia regional managing director.

Srivatsan said he was confident of building on SAP’s strong growth during 2008, despite the downturn. He said that business analytics is even more crucial to sound, rapid decisions in these economically-challenged times.

SAP Asia Pacific & Japan president Geraldine McBride said that Srivatsan would be bringing to the country his extensive experience in South Asia markets. “He has great familiarity with the Malaysia market. I am confident that he will be able to offer a fresh perspective to our business in Malaysia and lead the team towards company goals.”
