01 Dec 2008

SINGAPORE, 1 DECEMBER 2008 – Business analytics provider SAS has continued to outpace the overall market in 2007.

This is according to prominent analyst firm IDC which noted that the global business analytics software market grew at a 12.7 per cent rate, while SAS grew at a 13.9 per cent pace.

The figures have been quoted from IDC’s Worldwide Business Analytics Software 2008-2012 Forecast and 2007 Vendor Shares report.

SAS netted sales of US$2.15 billion in the same period, the report said.

Slow rate of growth for business analytics market

The analyst firm said that the business analytics market will likely grow at a slightly slower rate in the next five years with a forecast compound annual growth rate of 9.7 per cent because of the economic downturn.

SAS expects to continue outperforming the business analytics market, said the analytics firm.
