SINGAPORE, 11 SEPTEMBER 2008 – India will be home to Saab’s Aeronautical Design and Development Centre (ADDC, creating a single source of design and development capabilities for domestic, global defense and civil aeronautical applications.
Leading global IT services, business solutions and outsourcing firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is partnering with Saab to establish the ADDC. Saab provides products, services and solutions ranging from military defense to civil security.
The ADDC partnership aims to address the global aeronautical market, said a company spokesperson.
Leveraging global strengths
“This co-operation is not limited to any specific product but is aimed towards building a joint capability to leverage collective strengths across the globe,” says Åke Svensson, Saab CEO, on the TCS-Saab partnership.
Tata Industrial Services Limited (TISL), which oversees and monitors contracts, was instrumental in forging this co-operation. Ms.Uma Pillai Managing Director of TISL said: “The formation of ADDC is the first step in harnessing the potential of the two global organizations in aerospace and defense sector.”
