Microsoft Office 365 is now available in four new Asia markets, said the company in a statement on 28 June.
These four countries are Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Taiwan.
Office 365 is Microsoft's next-generation cloud productivity service for organisations of all sizes and it brings together Microsoft Office, Microsoft SharePoint Online, Microsoft Exchange Online and Microsoft Lync Online in an always-up-to-date cloud service.
The company said that now organisations in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Taiwan can buy Office 365 for the first time starting 28 June.
In Asia, Office 365 is already available in Australia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand and Singapore.
"Today the number of users of Office 365 is growing by approximately 50 percent every month in the Asia Pacific region," said Andrew Pickup, Microsoft's Asia Pacific chief marketing and operations officer. "We see the most significant growth from small and mid-sized businesses. Office 365 levels the playing field for these organisations which will get to enjoy enterprise-grade productivity and collaboration technology for a price as low as $6 (U.S.) per user per month."
According to the IT company, organisations from markets across the Asia Pacific region have adopted Office 365, and in doing so joined with global industry leaders that use Microsoft's cloud services, such as: Coca-Cola Enterprises, GlaxoSmithKline, Kraft Foods, McDonalds, Philips and Starbucks.
Office 365 for education
Simultaneously, Microsoft also announced the general availability of Office 365 for education on the same day.
A Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement that schools and universities are also moving to Office 365 for education. Recently, the All India Council for Technical Education became Microsoft's largest cloud customer ever when it announced it would deploy Office 365 for education to 7.5 million users at more than 10,000 technical colleges and institutes throughout India.
