Dimension Data helped Fuji Xerox Taiwan build green office and re-architect network infrastructure

When Fuji Xerox Taiwan, a leading provider of multifunction printing and document management solutions, relocated its Taipei headquarters in January 2012, it wanted to redesign its network infrastructure to build a more secure and highly available architecture.

The aim was to enable better services for its enterprise mobile users. The company was also keen to build an environmentally friendly and energy efficient "Green Office" as its new headquarters.

Fuji Xerox Taiwan supplies multifunction printers to enterprises and provides on-demand printing services at over 5,000 convenience stores in Taiwan. Recognising the importance of enterprise mobility, Fuji Xerox appointed Dimension Data to help design a new Cisco-based network infrastructure to meet the demands of its increasingly mobile workforce.

Dimension Data helps clients plan, build, support, manage, improve and innovate their ICT infrastructures.

"To cope with increased demand for our services, we recognised that the existing legacy network infrastructure was not going to be able to support a rapidly expanding mobile workforce that demand seamless, reliable and fast network connectivity," said Gene Wu, deputy senior vice president, Fuji Xerox Taiwan. "We needed to overhaul our network infrastructure to cope with business growth and customer demands for better, faster service. It was just as important for us to work with a partner that has a proven track record of delivering complex wired/wireless solutions, and equipped with skills in managing projects that place priority on performance, security and availability."

After carefully reviewing proposals from several vendors, Fuji Xerox chose to partner with Dimension Data Taiwan. Dimension Data proposed a new network infrastructure based around the 10GE Cisco Catalyst 6509 core switch.

According to a statement by Dimension Data Taiwan, Fuji Xerox Taiwan plans to continue to seek innovative approaches to improve customer services and productivity. It plans to integrate some third party technologies to provide value-added services through cloud computing.
