What exactly is the touch screen digitizer?

Introduction to the phone touch screen
A touchscreen is an electronic input device that users can control with single – or multi-touch gestures. A touch screen enables the user to interact directly with what is displayed, rather than using a mouse, touchpad, or any other intermediate device.
Some touch screens can be controlled with a finger; Others may need to use specially coated gloves or use special stylus pens. Touch-screen devices are now the industry standard on most smartphones, tablets and most laptops. Most homes will have at least one device with a touch screen.
Due to their wide popularity, these screens break on one occasion. What many users don't know is that the touch screen and the actual LCD screen are two different parts.
A touchscreen display usually consists of three main parts. Protective glass, touch screen digitizer, LCD. Digitizer is a thin transparent sheet, with a transparent conductive adhesive on the protective glass sheet. The digitizer is the only part of the display component responsible for sensing touch. Since human touch is conductive, it allows the screen to sense where you are touching. The LCD is only responsible for displaying images on the screen.
What exactly is the touch screen digitizer?
The touch screen digitizer is a thin layer of transparent plastic that reads the signal from the touch and transmits it to the processing unit. It's the part you can touch without disassembling the device.
An LCD screen is a panel inside a device that displays images. You can't reach the LCD screen without first disassembling the device.
When only the touch screen digitizer fails, you should still be able to see what's happening on the screen, and the screen should still work.
When only the LCD is broken, you can still use the touch screen, but the panel will have dark spots or spider web cracks (or both).
When both the LCD and the touch screen are damaged, you may still be able to use part of the touch screen, and some parts of the LCD may display images, but you will experience significant difficulties in normal use of the device.

What's the difference between an LCD screen and a digitizer?
When we have an LCD component, apart from the widgets and frames, we see three main components
1) Digitizer (front glass),
2) Digitizer bending cable (should be attached to the glass)
3) LIQUID crystal display unit.
The touch screen digitizer is defined as a device for converting analog signals into digital signals. In the case of our phones, the device is the glass that covers the LCD. Yes, the sheet of glass attached to the LCD is a digitizer. Or sometimes called LCD digital converter. It converts your movements (pressing, swiping, etc.) into digital signals that your phone can understand. Data from the digitizer (glass) is transmitted to the phone via an attached digitizer flex cable or digitizer flex band, which should be included with your purchase of a replacement LCD digitizer.
All three components can be purchased individually or together. Although, I do not recommend that anyone buy a digitizer without a digitizer bending the cable. For some phones, installing a bent cable can be tricky, and if it's not installed properly, it can make your touchscreen LCD display less functional.
