One of SpaceX’s most significant launches occurred on July 17, 2019, when its Falcon 9 rocket launched three Tesla Reactors from Cape Canaveral. The Reactors are tiny nuclear reactors that generate electricity for the vehicle that is transporting the fuel and rocket parts to orbit.
Another notable launch took place on November 8, 2020, when SpaceX sent the first operational Dragon spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS). The Dragon was carrying supplies and equipment necessary for the crew on board the ISS, including food, water, and medical supplies.
In addition to these launches, SpaceX has also tested and deployed various other payloads into orbit, such as satellites and rocket boosters.
One of SpaceX’s more recent launches was on May 30, 2021, when it sent its longest duration mission to date, the Inspiration4 mission. Inspiration4 had a crew of four people, all students at High School in Texas, who were paid $1 million each to spend six months living and working inside a fully loaded SpaceX rocket. The mission marked a significant milestone for SpaceX and showed the potential for commercial spaceflight to become more accessible and affordable.
