The latest generation of updates includes improvements around sleep, heart rate monitoring, and women's health. The new green LED monitors heart rate 24/7, helping users identify their reactions to exercise, stress, and daily activities. Gen 3 also provides real-time heart rate readings and recovery time readings to help users know when to rest.
In terms of women's health, Oura Loop 3 can predict periods up to 30 days in advance and alert users six days before their next period. To do this, the device uses new advanced sensors to collect temperature readings. These research-grade sensors could even be used to identify upcoming diseases. It's still a lightweight, waterproof titanium strap, meant to fit into users' daily lives like a major piece of jewelry. As before, users can choose from silver, black, invisible, or gold. The third-generation ring's health features include readiness, sleep, and activity scores. The new device also retains automatic activity detection and automatic nap detection, and can still count steps and track heart rate variability. The new Oura Ring also retains social sharing.
