Depending on the number of EOs, polyoxyethylene castor oil is divided into EL-10 and EL-20. (H)EL-40 and EL-60 are also available. Water solubility and HLB value increase with increasing EO numbers. It has excellent emulsifying qualities.

El-80 has antistatic and emulsifying properties and can be added to acrylic fiber, PVA, polypropylene, and other chemical fibre oil agents. El 80 can also be used for emulsifying organophosphorus dioxin pesticides and wool oil. It is widely used in textile dyeing, printing, ink and paint industries. But it can also be used to emulsify a wide variety of oils.
