The Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China released the National Food Safety Standard of Sorbitan monostearate, on November 21, 2011. The current standard number for Sorbitan monostearate is GB 3001. Since December 21, 2011 the standard replaced GB 134812010 “Food Safety National Standard Food Additives Sorbitan Monostearate” (now abrogated).
