The hexagonal crystal system contains natural crystalline graphite. This natural crystalline graphite has the appearance of fish phosphorus. The material is highly resistant to heat, electric conductivity and thermal conductivity. It also has excellent lubrication and plasticity.

Flake graphite exhibits complete crystallization and thin flakes. It also has excellent chemical and physical properties. The material has high thermal conductivity as well as electrical conductivity.
Graphite powder exhibits good electrical conductivity. Even though it is not comparable with iron, copper, aluminum and other metals in terms of electrical conductivity, graphite powder has an excellent one. Flake graphite powder can be lubricated well. The friction coefficient for graphite powder is less than 0.01. However, the level of lubrication depends on how large the flake. The friction correlation coefficient of graphite powder is smaller and the material that lubricates it has a better performance.
Flake graphite from natural sources is very resistant to heat shock. The graphite’s thermal expansion coefficient decreases with sudden temperature fluctuations. Also, it is thermally stable and prevents graphite-related products cracking.

Refractory
Flake graphite is used extensively in advanced refractories, coatings and metallurgical industries. A lot of work is required to make graphite oil, which can be used for lubricants and mold release agents.
Coating
Flake graphite, a functional additive to coatings is used primarily for fire-resistant and anti-corrosion coatings.
This anti-corrosion material is made from carbon black, oil and talcum powder. It has excellent corrosion resistance to solvents and chemicals. Chemical pigments, such as zinc yellow, can be added to improve the anti-rust effects.
Expandable graphite, also known as graphite interlaminar complexes or graphite flakes is used for fireproofing.
